Quality Assurance
The Irish Equine Centre is committed to providing a world class service to its clients. It maintains strict adherence to best practice in quality assurance.

The Centre is fully GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) compliant, and is recognised as such by INAB (The Irish National Accreditation Board).  As well as the credibility this gives to the regular work undertaken on behalf of the equine industry, this internationally recognised standard also enables the Centre to carry out contract safety studies on behalf of veterinary pharmaceutical companies. These studies are required for the registration of new and existing medicines and vaccines.

The Microbiology Unit has additionally secured IS017025 accreditation for a wide range of tests which meet the specific and defined requirements of clients.

The Centre maintains a separate and wholly independent Quality Assurance department at its premises in Johnstown, County Kildare. This provides support to all units at the Irish Equine Centre through training and audits. In combination with external inter-laboratory test programmes, it also ensures that the Centre maintains the highest possible standards and that a policy of continuous improvement with regard to international practice is adhered to.
