Research
The Irish Equine Centre undertakes research on behalf of government and commercial organisations.
The principal aims of programme are to undertake industry relevant research, promote education and pharmaceutical industry interaction.
The research program has a bias towards the investigation of conditions giving rise to difficulties in breeding such as infertility, developmental problems, foal abortions and premature death, as well as the development of rapid diagnostic techniques for the detection of viral diseases in breeding stock and racehorses.
In recent times it has undertaken research projects on behalf of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, The International League for the Protection of Horses, the International Equestrian Federation and the Lloyds Charitable Trust.
